Many residents may not realize that charitable support of our community is an important component of the Ib.l.a.s.t. program. In fact, 20% of every card sale goes back into the community. In the past year, 16 local non-profits have been the recipients of funds generated by the Ib.l.a.s.t. card. In an effort to consolidate the charitable funds from I.b.l.a.s.t. card sales, and be more efficient and effective philanthropists, the founders of Ib.l.a.s.t., Barbara Davis and Carolyn Williams, will now direct 20% of all 2010 Ib.l.a.s.t. card sales sold directly through Ib.l.a.s.t. to a charitable fund they have established at the New Canaan Community Foundation. This fund, called the Local First Ib.l.a.s.t. Fund will continue to support local charities through fundraising and card sales donations. The purpose of the Fund is to make grants to non-profits that initiate programs to attract visitors and retail prospects, as well as make New Canaan an enjoyable place to live.
The following local merchants and businesses have generously donated to the Local First Fund managed by the New Canaan Community Foundation.
